THERMAL IMAGING - THE POWER OF INFRARED
Thermal imaging is not only an excellent tool to assess operational performance, it’s also integral in identifying potential risks before they occur to minimize downtime, improve efficiencies and avoid catastrophic failures. Using an infrared camera (IR), thermal imaging can be performed on anything from motors to lighting panels, motor control centers, VFD’s and more. Here at Impact, our trained technicians are well versed in IR and recommend using it as part of your electrical preventative maintenance program.
INFRARED IN ACTION
An infrared camera is a contactless device that detects unusual heating or excessive temperature deviations to produce a thermal image or video, on which we can perform temperature calculations. Each thermographic image has areas of interest selected, with the maximum temperature in each area noted. These temperatures are compared with equivalent equipment, adjacent phases, or ambient temperature to determine whether a hotspot represents an item of concern.
TOP 5 REASONS TO SCHEDULE THERMAL IMAGING
SPOT THE PROBLEM
Detect faulty components, electrical failure, water damage, and thermal issues - replace or repair them BEFORE a problem becomes a catastrophic failure.
MINIMIZE DOWNTIME
Reduce or prevent unscheduled downtime while improving system performance. Plus, a thermal imaging inspection is non-invasive, meaning all equipment can keep running for the duration of the inspection.
INCREASE THE LIFE OF YOUR EQUIPMENT
With scheduled maintenance, expect improved efficiencies while increasing the lifespan of your systems.
IMPROVE SAFETY FOR EQUIPMENT AND PERSONNEL
Investing in thermal imaging means improved safety standards, reduced risk of fire, injury and other risks in your workplace.
LOWER INSURANCE PREMIUMS
By preventing failures before there’s damage to personnel, equipment or your facility.
